in the Spring of 2020, Freya Liggett the history curator at the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture partnered with Dr. Larry Cebula at EWU to have students in his Nearby History course choose and study objects in the museum collection to include in the upcoming WWII exhibit. I chose to research an Aircraft Identification chart and a few medals and pins from local aviators and wrote a prospectus focusing on how to include the stories of local military aviators in the exhibit and how to connect the identification chart to broader themes of volunteering in the region and the fears some people in the Inland had that Spokane and other nearby cities could be targets for air raids. The exhibit opened on October 10, 2020. and closes Sept 5, 2021
